“The Quill”

Zion’s first yearbook was the 1959 issue of “The Quill”. It was published every year from 1959 to 1985 when the lack of interest in both sales and someone to oversee its publication caused it to fall off the list of things to do. There was a yearbook issued in 1995 and finally  a couple of the 8th graders published a yearbook in 2002.

The issues of the early 1970s were not printed in the highest quality. The 1973 & 1974 issue were printed in the school using a mimeograph machine which really wasn’t the best at printing photographs. 

The only copy that the school had of the 1959 Quill was accidentally destroyed around 1983 – if anyone has a copy it would be greatly appreciated if you would like to share it.

In 1985 I boxed up the original paste up yearbook pages and unused photographs for the school and placed them into the storage area. Some time after 2000 the box was removed and no one seems to know where it is. It is feared that it might have been disposed of during a clearing of the space to make room. If anyone knows what became of it please let me know.
